A veneer is an ‘egg-shell’ thin layer placed over the visible side of front teeth. Veneers transform heavily filled, discoloured, chipped or worn teeth to an ideal colour, shape and size. Veneers make crooked teeth look straight and can eliminate unsightly gaps.
There are two types:
A tooth-coloured Composite filling material is hand-sculptured over the selected teeth to create the desired shape, colour and size. Stunning results can be achieved in just one appointment, often without even the need for local anaesthetic. This technique is also ideal to make chips disappear or to make minor shape changes.
Are generally the better option, particularly if significant change is necessary. Mimic natural tooth enamel perfectly. Maintain their pearlescent sheen and lustre indefinitely. Porcelain veneers are harder and stronger than Composite. Porcelain veneers are more resistant to chipping, cracking or staining than Composite veneers. Two appointments are required. At the 1st appointment, after very precise, minute shaping of the tooth / teeth, a mould is made. Our Master Dental Ceramist then crafts & hand tints the veneers to perfectly match your teeth. At the 2nd appointment the veneers are bonded in place.
Before veneers is the ideal time to whiten.
We then match the veneer(s) to your new, whiter and brighter teeth. Your entire smile will be dramatically enhanced.
